Happy Fall

It's beginning to look a lot like fall time...

...Eeeeeverywhere you look.

Okay, okay, cheesy I know.

But how exciting is this time of year?!

I have a pretty sad collection of fall decor but the little bits I do have make my heart smile.

Am I the only one that thinks a string of lights with corny fall leaves on it is super fun?
....probably.

But hey, whatever floats your boat right???

Easter is a comin'

If you're not yet in the Easter spirit you need to take yourself on a little trip to Target.
Talk about some cuuuute stuff!

I could've brought home the entire Easter aisle last week but somehow I escaped with only purchasing these little gems

Every time I go to the store I can't help but drool over the incredibly cute Easter dresses that are out.  Seriously I'm obsessed.

If I could have it my way Lyla would have a dress for every hour of Easter.

... And if I could fit myself in one of these I would!

Here's some of my faves:

The big thing in the works right now is Lyla's first Easter basket. I already know I'm going to get her one of Thirty-One's adorable Mini Utility Bins for the basket itself.

And I'm not just saying that because I'm a consultant either!

{But here's the expected plug-- Visit my website here!}

I mean, how could you not get one of these cuties for your cutie?!

I've collected a few things for her basket already, despite Jesse's constant reminders that she's only 6 months old and won't remember Easter.

....Like that would stop me.

Here's the start of her collection:

Obviously I still have more shopping to do!

Too bad this little one isn't big enough to run around searching for Easter eggs yet.

I AM curious how that works here in Alaska.
Does everyone snow suit up and dig in the snow?

St Pattys Day

Another fun holiday for this little lass. St Patty's day was an overall relaxing day for our family. Jesse and I started our morning with what else but a big ol' bowl of Lucky Charms.

I had bought this box the night before in order to make a little treat for the holiday but my first bowl was just too delicious and I had to pour another heaping bowl full! After breakfast I realized I would've needed to refrain from my trip down my childhood memory lane in order to make the goodies so... That was a bust.

But I don't regret it.

One of my flight attendant friends had a layover in Anchorage that day so our whole afternoon was spent visiting with her. I did however have time to make Lyla a new bib to use at dinner that night.

Don't look at that picture too closely because I make it in like 15 minutes.

Anyways, our night ended with Lyla showing off her new skill of sitting up on her own! She's been able to do it for like 3 Mississippis {the technically term} for a while now but this time she did for about 10 Mississippis!!! Total awesomeness.

Remember how Lyla was a special occasion show off during my pregnancy?
Well, apparently that's still her thing.
Popping on Jesse's birthday
Popping again for our gender reveal party.

Rolling on Valentines Day
Sitting up on St Patty's Day

What will she do on Easter?!

Stay tunes folks!

Happy New Year

I can't believe I have let so much time pass between blog entries. I wanted this to be a place where I keep track of all my little pumpkin's memories and milestones. And now I have let two months come and go! So part of my New Years resolution is to be sure to keep up on my blogging.

I have a lot of things to catch up on before Lyla turns 4 months old next week. So be on the look out for some speed-blogging. I guess this is good timing since my amazing sleeper has officially gone bananas and now keeps me up all night long.

Here's a few gems from today:

Holding her head up, sitting in a Bumbo and grabbing her toys... I can't believe how big she's getting!

Craft-tastic

You better believe it took me no time at all to start busting out my craft box after having a kid.

Since I'm no longer teaching I have been deprived of my "art therapy" time.  Not saying I'm the best crafter in the world, but I can say there's nothing better than getting your hands on some paint!

Anyways- here is Lyla's first art project:

{Let me tell you how fun it is to do this project with a 9 week old baby}

The best part is that I decided to make Thanksgiving cards for some of our family with this same foot print project. All I can say is- thank you Lyla for being able to sit in a bumbo seat for 2 minutes!

I forgot to get a picture of the finish project. But I bought some brown card stock cards and envelopes at Michaels, glued the turkey on the front and then put this picture on the inside:

{Made using the app RedStamp}

I think it turned out great. Hopefully everyone can tell it's her footprint though--- some look a liiiiittle  crazy thanks to Mrs Squirmy-pants.

Next up:  Homemade Christmas ornament!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy thanksgiving to my little pumpkin!

We spent the holiday at my in-laws.
I didn't get many pictures those days but here's what I got....

Hanging out with Papa on Wednesday

And then hanging out with Daddy

Monkey bread I made thanksgiving morning.  Yummmm

Lyla's turkey day outfit

Jesse and his mini-me on Friday

haha.

Dispite my million reminders to my husband that we need to take a Thanksgiving picture together it, unfortunately, never happened.
......sigh.

Aw well!

Now it's time to deck the halls!

Happy Halloween!

I love that Halloween was Lyla's first holiday!

She was way to little to even begin to enjoy it
but I loved every minute of dressing my little cutie up in her costume.

My little peacock!

I wanted to make something simple that would work with her brace.
So I figured a little tutu action would be just the ticket.
And besides, those colors look amazing on her!

I can't wait to take this girl trick-or-treating!

Yesterday morning Lyla had her doctor appointment.
The receptionist there is so sweet and LOVES when Lyla stops by
So we were sure to make her look nice and festive that morning.

hello.

Too bad that outfit didn't last too long.

{Oh that joys of motherhood!}

After her appointment, and outfit change, Lyla and I did a little bit of shopping while we waited for daddy to get out of his appointment.

My shopping buddy

That evening we went over to our friends house for dinner.
Julia did an amazing job with the decorations
and inspired me to be a bit more festive with our house next year!

So cute!

I wish I could've got a picture of the other little boy there.
He's 5 months old and was dressed as a chicken!
They took a white boa and made his body and yellow rubber gloves for feet.

a-dorable!

{If Lyla is a chicken next year you know where I got the idea!}

Trick-or-treaters were few and far between but it was still a fun evening.

Lyla all snuggled up on Julia (and meow cat)

One holiday down and more to come!
